The challenge – Event marketing, registration management and tracking

The Create Your Legacy event brings together elite level athletes and those seeking alternative or complementary careers with employers. It is a partnership between the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and Progression.

DKH wanted to track every aspect of their marketing spend relating to the event, allowing them to get a real sense of ROI and improve the registration process for attendees the following year. Their marketing channels included:

The solution

WebPraxis built an optimised landing page driven site for the event focused on generating registrations, and tracking individual registration sources.

We also provided ongoing marketing reports throughout the registration process which helped DKH legacy trust and Progression decide on which marketing channels to focus their efforts.


The Create Your Legacy events at Reading’s Madejski Stadium and The Manchester Velodrome attracted a number of high profile sportsmen and women including Dame Kelly Holmes, Gareth Southgate, Dion Dublin and Nick Gillingham.

Just under 1000 athletes registered for the events via the website. The main audience base predominantly came from professional football but others from motor racing and swimming also attended.

Moving Forward

The platform will be maintained as a one stop shop for athletes attending future careers events hosted by The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and League Football Education.
